The Biggest Brain

Sadly, the new life saber in Ben's Luke Skywalker toy broke in half. Today, Ben asked me to glue it back together. He became very upset about my choice of glue, the glue didn't work anyway, etc., etc.  I ended up saying to him: "It's just a cheap toy, I can't do anything about it."

Ben: Where is my cheap toy? I want that cheap toy back.

Ben then asks me some other question, probably StarWars related.  I tell him, "Use your big brain to figure it out."

Ben: Whose brain is bigger, yours or mine?

Mama: I don't know.

Ben: I think yours is bigger, so YOU figure it out.

Mama: OMG -- if you're developing that train of logic to get your way, your brain is DEFINITELY bigger than mine!

Love,
Mama

Leif to the Rescue

Leif shows off his stuff for the ladies during a Nighttime Playdate at the Brown's house.  Per usual, he was streaking when Hannah and Audrey arrived, but was soon persuaded to don a diaper -- and then of course, a fireman's helmet, followed by his fireman's jacket and (his request) his shoes.  Let's hope the only fires he has to fight are fires of the heart!

No picture of Ben -- sorry -- but in the 30 minutes prior to the Nighttime Playdate, Ben sprang into action (as fast as a fireman might): he allowed me to give him a quick sponge bath (not so into actual baths these days - gross!), pulled ALL of his pajamas out of his dresser and selected the perfect pair to surprise his lady-friend visitors: Scooby Doo top and Cars 1 bottoms (the matching pairs had uncomfy bottoms, it turns out).  Then -- I can't make this stuff up -- Ben shouted: "We have to tidy up! Let's put all the toys away!" And, continuing to move at rapid-fire pace, he put away all his rescue bots AND CLEANED UP ALL THE TOYS IN THE PLAYROOM AND LIVING ROOM -- EVEN RETURNING TOYS FROM THE FIRST FLOOR TO THE SECOND -- WITH ZERO PROMPTING (and just a tiny bit of help) FROM HIS MOM.

Hannah and Audrey, you can come again ANY TIME!!!!!

Love

Ben enters random numbers into the phone, and holds it up to his ear.
Me: Who's calling?

Ben: God.

Me: What are you saying to God?

Ben: I love you.

****

Leif exuberantly says, "Love You!" with hand motions and dimples to match (thanks to Jeannie B, the pre-school music teacher).

****

Ben greets Leif at the end of school with loving hugs.

We are grateful for all the love
